Messy Drawing for People Who Don't Know How to Start Drawing: September 19 | 10am - 12pm
September 19 | 10am - 12pm
Age 18+
This class will take place at The Portal at Toledo School for the Arts to coincide with Where the Flowers Lead, an exhibition of garden themed artworks and plant installation in the gallery of works by Jules and Allison Clements. Jules has an entire wall of "messy drawings" on display in this exhibition.
In this class, we will work through a series of fun loose and expressive drawings with markers and pen to get used to putting lines and marks down on paper. The intent of this class is to help familiarize people who would be otherwise scared to draw with tools, papers, and simple perspective for measurement that will enable people to feel confident enough to start sketching and drawing on their own.
The key to becoming great at drawing isn’t to start out being great at drawing. The most important thing is to develop a love of trying that will encourage you to keep going and keep trying as your hand and eye skills gradually get better. No previous drawing experience is expected or required. Students will leave the class with a couple completed messy drawings and the confidence to continue their drawing journey.
